FAITH IN ART

Slide submissions sought from artists to be considered for an interfaith and
intercultural exhibit exploring faith based and spiritual dimensions in art.
September 14 through October 20, 2006

CALENDAR

August 18, 2006 - Entry postmarked by this date
August 21, 2006 - Acceptance of work will be sent by email and via phone 
August 23 - 26, 2006 - Accepted work arrives at Gallery, by hand delivery by
artists.
September 14 - October 20, 2006 - Exhibition dates
Artists' reception: Thursday, September 14, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Gallery Talk and slide presentation: Thursday, September 21, 1 - 2:30p.m.
October 20, 21, 22 - Art work to be picked-up at Art Gallery by 6pm. on
10/22

Theme: Recent works exploring the artist's consideration and expression of
spirituality and faith in visual art.  Art work in various mediums including
printmaking, mixed media, photography, painting, drawing, digital media, and
sculpture will be considered. Art that express personal beliefs or systems
of though considered sacred or divine are sought.  Art work created by
artists from various faith traditions, practices, or religions are
encouraged to submit work.

Eligibility: Open to all artists working in the Metropolitan Boston region.
Art work must have been completed since January 2004 and not previously
exhibited in more than one show.

Specifications: Work must be gallery ready, sized for reasonable transport
and to fit through average doorways, ideally no larger than 60" in any
direction. Two-dimensional work must be suitably framed and firmly wired. 

Entry Procedure: up to twelve (12) 35mm slides in standard mounts.  All
slides must be marked with artist's name, title of piece, number 1-12 to
correspond with entry sheet info, media, year, size and "top" indicated. You
may submit digital images, hardcopies, video tapes, DVD's, CD's in lieu of
slides. Provide an artist resume and statement about your work as relates to
theme.  Include a SASE if you wish to have your slides or digital media
returned.

Sales: The Art Gallery at Bunker Hill Community College refers all sales
inquiries to the artist.

Agreement: Submitting an entry card to this exhibition constitutes an
agreement on the part of the artist with all conditions in the prospectus.
No work accepted for the exhibition may be withdrawn before the close of the
exhibition. After an artist's work has been accepted, the artist may not
substitute another work for the accepted one. The Art Gallery at Bunker Hill
Community College reserves the right to reject any work not resembling the
submitted work for review, or is not properly prepared to be shown as noted
in specifications.

Liability:  While the artwork is hanging in the exhibit at the Art Gallery
at Bunker Hill Community College, in consideration of displaying the
artwork, you as the Artist agree to release the Art Gallery at Bunker Hill
Community College from any claims, losses, expenses, or liability of any
kind concerning the artwork. The Bunker Hill Community College Art Gallery
will make every attempt to secure work and is equipped with state of the art
monitoring and security systems. 

Delivery:  Artists whose work has been accepted will be notified by email or
phone after August 20, 2006.  Accepted artists will be required to hand
deliver artwork to gallery on specified dates and times.

About  the BHCC Art Gallery:    The Bunker Hill Community College Art
Gallery provides the college and local communities opportunities to view
high caliber art exhibitions, exposure to a diversity of ideas and artistic
media, and access to forums with emerging and established Boston-based
artists.  Through its scheduled programming, the Gallery offers an
innovative backdrop to teaching and learning.  The Gallery hosts the Annual
Student Juried Art Exhibit and the President's Artistic Achievement Awards.
College Work-Study and Internship positions afford BHCC students with
hands-on Art Gallery experience. The intimately designed gallery, with
Newbury Street sophistication, and an in-your-own backyard location, is a
welcoming destination to everyone who appreciates fine art.  The exhibition
schedule, showcased artists, gallery talks, hands-on workshops, and
expressed themes guarantee to be as diverse as the 90 plus countries the
BHCC students hail from. Located in the A-300 Lounge and Auditorium area,
