[DAC] FREE arts events in Dot this week

There are some great FREE arts events going on in Dorchester this week,
especially for kids.
 
Tuesday July 25 
Elma Lewis Playhouse in the Franklin Park
10:30 a.m. Chu Ling Dance Academy (traditional and modern Chinese dance)
6:00 p.m. JP Tropicale (Afro-Latin music) and Fikira (Afro-jazz)
This is a Tuesday morning and afternoon series for the next four week.  More

Thursday July 27
Great Hall, Codman Square
Boston Landmarks Orchestra Concerts for Children
"Lifting the Curse: A Story of the Red Sox"
Narrated by WBUR's Bill Littlefield
Plus a selection of songs sung by Roxbury soprano La'Tarsha Long
2 performances - 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon
This program repeats at Franklin Park on August 1 at 6:00 (with Dick Flavin
narrating)
 
Also- save the date!  The Boston Landmarks Orchestra brings a full orchestra
to Dot Park on August 13 at 6:30, with a program that features the first
symphonies of Beethoven and Prokofiev, the world premiere of a concerto by a
13-year old composer from Brookline and the orchestral debut of a Russian
guitarist who lives in Dorchester now.
