  The UrbanArts Institute in partnership with Four Corners Main Street 
in Boston, MA announce the following public art opportunity for New 
England-based artists/designers:


Deadline: Wednesday, December 13, 2006, 5pm (application received)

Dorchester, MA - Artistic Feature for Mother's Rest Park in Four Corners 
Neighborhood CALL TO ARTISTS

Request for Qualifications

Eligibility: Open to professional artists in New England.

Background: Four Corners Main Street (4CMS) received a $5,000 planning 
grant from the New England Foundation for the Arts to begin planning for 
a work of public art in Mother's Rest Park. With an interest in 
promoting the arts in Four Corners and engaging the community in feeling 
ownership in this public space, the planning team invites professional 
artists to
submit qualifications for a project to complement the amphitheater 
spacein Mother's Rest Park, located next to 420 Washington Street in 
Dorchester. The artist selection process will be facilitated by the 
UrbanArts Institute at Massachusetts College of Art (UrbanArts).

Budget: $50,000-$65,000 all-inclusive projected budget. $1,000 awarded 
for design proposal development.
