For people looking for an alternative to the trend of mass-market consumer
goods, Wears + Wares offers the answer! With a focus on real design and
aesthetic, Wears + Wares, located in the heart of Boston's Downtown
Crossing, will promote independent designers in areas such as fashion,
furniture, paper goods, accessories, textiles, house wares, jewelry, and
much more. Founded by two designers, inspired by EDGE*ny and The Market NYC,
Wears + Wares promises to be an exciting addition to Boston by helping to
promote craftsmanship, design, and unique goods. As well, Wears + Wares has
chosen Downtown Crossing because of its traditional role as marketplace
center, and easy access from any place in the city!
Wears + Wares will hold five pre-holiday markets (November 11, 18, and
December 2, 9, and 16 from 11:00am to 5:00pm) before opening in a more
permanent fashion in March 2007 (providing an indoor market space every
Saturday!). Wears + Wares will be located in the lobby of 101 Arch Street
(whose entrance is on Summer Street, kitty corner from Macy's).
Lots of information, vendor applications, newsletter signups, etc. are
available on the website at
