Hi,
Tomorrow Thursday, Nov. 16, is the unveiling of the First Night Logo
which is based on my painting, This will be at 10:30 am at the Park
Plaza Hotel, so please drop in if you are in the neighborhood.
It will be hosted by Channel 4 reporters, and will most likely be on
the evening news.
Also in the evening tomorrow is the opening reception of my exhiibit at
Thayer Academy Gallery in Braintree. The gallery is large and so I have
many of my large paintings including the mural-sized Women At Work. I
will also do the gallery talk during the opening reception probably at
7 pm.

> Opening Reception Nov. 16 for Lucilda Dassardo-Cooper
>
> Crossing cultural and geographical borders is the subject explored in
> paintings of Lucilda Dassardo-Cooper on display at Thayer Academy in
> Braintree, Nov. 13 through Dec 15. Paintings in oils and watercolors
> depict the cultures of India, where she lived in the late 1990s, and
> Jamaica, her native country, which she visits often. The exhibit
> includes paintings from the "Veiled Presence" series of sari-clad
> women that led to Dassardo-Cooper being selected as a US
> representative to India's 9th Triennale. Also at the Thayer Arts
> Gallery on the first floor of the Southworth Library is her mural-size
> tryptich, "Women at Work," which depicts subcontinental women doing a
> variety of labor. From Jamaica, there is a painting of a weary woman
> who has "Finally Finished" cleaning a mound of fresh fish on a beach.
> The opening reception is Thursday, Nov. 16, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
> Regular gallery hours are 8 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday. The
