Subject: Finalized Frederick MS Career Day Schedule

Dear Friends and Supporters of Arts Education for Boston:

I wrote to you last week asking for potential help and support of a new
initative I am developing at the Lila G. Frederick Pilot Middle School on
270 Columbia Road in Dorchester.

We're a new school and I'm a new teacher. We have a highly supportive
administration who encourages and supports the arts. I'd like to showcase
the potential for careers in the arts to help motivate and inspire my
students.

Here is the *TA DA*

Finalized Schedule for Frederick Middle School Artists'
and Designers' Career Day Presentations:

.	Semester 1: October 20th
.	Semester 2: December 15th
.	Semester 3: March 9th
.	Semester 4: May 18th

Each date would include the following daily schedule:

8:40-9:20 arrive to school, debrief with visual arts teacher, set-up slides
etc.
9:25-10:20 class #1
10:25-11:20 class #2
11:25-12:20 class #3
12:20-1:00 lunch * There is nothing really in this area but- there is access
to a microwave if you need one.
1:00-1:55 class #4

Presentation of your art, your background, etc. as well as questions and
answers should be planned to last about 15-20 minutes per guest
artist/designer, per class- 4 presentations total in the day. Each date, I
will attempt to have between 2-3 artists or designers presenting.

I am attempting to have a representative from the Massachusetts College of
Art/Boston Arts Academy (local arts-focused HS) available on each of these
dates to help students "see the next levels."

At this time there is no financial compensation for this service you would
be performing. I believe if this program is successful, next year I can
provide an honorarium. I can promise though- for this year- a bunch of
thank you cards and a really wonderful experience helping children see their
potentials and answer questions (they may not even know they have till they
see what you do!). \

Please contact me if you are available for any or all of these dates.
Please forward this around to friends who might be interested.

I would like to get A/V requests (slide projector, etc.) in to my
administration ASAP (at least a week prior to any date). We have A/V
resources but they are always in high demand.

I greatly appreciate your support!

Sincerely, Ella Krauter,
Frederick MS Sculpture and Design Teacher
