*Enter MassCOSH's 30th Anniversary Centerpiece Contest!*

MassCOSH is seeking unique, expressive centerpieces to demonstrate our
mission for public safety and health at our

30th Anniversary Gala , to be held on November 30th, 2006.

*MassCOSH (**Massachusetts ** Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health)
*is a membership-based nonprofit organization in Dorchester that advocates,
trains and organizes for safe, healthy workplaces and communities.

*Recommended theme: *Inspired by our logo (see www.masscosh.org), the piece
could integrate images of…

 Þ      *arms intertwined*, hands grasping to symbolize the togetherness and
solidarity of the health and safety movement,

Þ      *a gear* to symbolize the potential dangers workers face, or

Þ      *a yield sign *triangle shape to signify using caution in dangerous
workplaces.

Or, if you are inspired to create a centerpiece that otherwise expresses
messages of:

Þ      *Worker solidarity*

Þ      *Immigrant workers' rights*

Þ      *Health and safety*

…Please get creative and contribute that, as well!

Please *c**reate a concept *and an example of the contribution you wish to
submit. Your* *example can be a sketch, a written description, or an actual
replica of the centerpiece.

*Submission deadline: ** November 1, 2006**.*



*Specifics:* We are seeking 30 centerpieces (maximum dimensions 14" x 14" x
24") to be created and be sent to MassCOSH by the week of November 20th. All
expenses for the project are the responsibility of the artist or school. The
pieces will be available for auction and 50% of the proceeds are promised to
the artist.   MassCOSH will use the other 50% to meet the growing need for
its services, offering organizing, legal, and training tools to the workers
and communities who would otherwise go without. Please see our website for
more on our mission: www.masscosh.org.  Projected minimum bid is $40, but
will range higher depending on materials used and estimated value of the
piece.

call with any questions.  Sculptures can be delivered to our offices or
brought to the site, and unpurchased pieces may be picked up at our offices
