hi folks,
this is the mailing i sent out yesterday to my mailing list. i'm not so
great about sending out to lists etc, so if you want news in a more

This Sunday's Show, New Photos, Our Intern, and Free tickets!
i've updated the website and there are tons of new photos up! enjoy. in
other awesome news, truth serum now has an intern. (please, we've heard
all of the blue dress jokes.) her name is lily and she's a senior at
fenway high school. truth serum gets her for 6 weeks before she
graduates. she's helping me with all kinds of stuff (fruits of which
you'll get to see sometime soon, i'm sure) and has started a blog about

Sunday's headliner, Deadlee, was on Tyra Banks yesterday talking about
being gay and working in the rap scene which is notoriously homophobic .

This event revolves around the talent of Deadlee from LA and Feloni from
Detroit, two artist hot off the Homo Revolution 2007 tour. Deadlee was
featured in Pick Up the Mic a documentary about queers in Hip Hop that
made the festival circuit last year. He was just on CNN and watch Tyra
Banks 3pm on April 12 for another interview.

reading from their books. It's an early event before karaoke at the

Somerville-based author Pagan Kennedy reads from The First Man-Made Man
is the story of Michael Dillon, the world's first transgender man.
Alicia Goranson a Boston-based writer reads from "Supervillainz", a
novel that features a pair of transgender friends forced to confront
their own alienation when pursued through the Boston genderqueer
community by a family of superheroes who believe the friends killed
their brother.
Peggy Munson reads from "Origami Striptease", is a love story
between an enigmatic wanderer named Jack and a feisty pornographic
journalist who seduces borderland boys (trannies, butches, and daddies)
and doesn't understand how she will inhabit the margins of which she writes.
Letta Neely is a Boston based writer who has authored two books, "Juba"
and "Here." She'll be reading from her new book which is on the way to
the printers.

Ok. you want some free tickets...The Theater Offensive's new MUSICAL
with music and lyrics are by local lesbo folky Melissa Li, "Surviving
the Nian" starts this week. I've got free tickets for Tuesday April 17
and Wednesday April 18. Here's how to enter to win: You must follow
these directions exactly or you won't be considered.
1. send an email to tto at truthserum.org with "Nian" in the subject.
2. in the body of the message include your full legal name and how many
tickets you want (you can have one or two. no more.) Along with the date
you want to see the show.
3. if you don't win, i'm sorry, but you won't hear from me. if you do
win, i'll send you confirmation on monday at the latest.
