ARTrocks CALL TO ARTISTS
ENTRY DEADLINE: Monday, September 10, 2007 (received)
ELIGIBILITY: Artists/designers/teams residing in the Boston metropolitan
region.
PROJECT SUMMARY: Annually, 27 million people travel through Boston-Logan
International Airport. As part of an effort to extend the summer season,
travelers will be able enjoy the comfort of fifty new rocking chairs
hand-painted with designs created by artists from the metropolitan Boston
region.  The chairs will be permanently sited inside the terminals,
including International Terminal E.  Designs will be original and will
celebrate Boston and the New England region, its heritage, culture and
artistic community. Art Rocks at Boston Logan International Airport is
facilitated by UrbanArts.
ARTIST SELECTION: Artists/designers/teams may submit several designs and
will be paid a $1,000 honorarium for each approved design and completed
chair.
