Franklin Park Friends:
Next week the Boston Hopeline opens for teens to register for a summer job.
The Franklin Park Coalition will be at Lena Park CDC, 150 American Legion
Hwy (Bus #14), Dorchester on Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am - 2 pm to help
young people, age 15-17 register. Teens need their social security number
and must live in Boston. There are no school or income restrictions. Youth
can also go to: www.CityofBoston.gov and click on Summer Jobs. The Franklin
Park Coalition will be hiring two crews to work in the park.
ADVOCATE FOR PARKS! The Boston Parks Department has issued a park survey to
learn more about how people use parks and concerns they have. Lots of
responses will show that parks are important to city residents. It just
takes a few minutes, go to www.CityofBoston.gov/parks/ and click on the Open
Space Plan Update Survey.
Park Artists:
Writers! Performance artists! What Tales of the Park Can We Tell? Does a
walk through Franklin Park's fragrant forests and carved stones stir your
imagination? What characters spring to life from the park's lofty and
lurking places? If you're a writer who loves the mystery of nature and the
intrigue of history, join me to create an intereactive theatre piece to
stage in the park. Let's make this a frolic that celebrates our diverse
community - human and non-human. It'll be a tale these woods will never
forget!
