"Massachusetts vs. The World. 
How Do We Measure Up?"
A 2007 Eye on Education Progress Report

Wednesday . January 17 . 2007 . 7 to 8pm

Live on WGBH/Channel 2


OVERVIEW

WGBH2 presents a Greater Boston Eye on Education town meeting examining the
challenge of global competition. Greater Boston's Emily Rooney will anchor
the live, one-hour special in Studio A on Wednesday, January 17 at 7pm. The
program will focus on how well Massachusetts schools are preparing students
to compete in a global economy.

INVITATION

WGBH2 would like you to join the live studio audience and/or send your
comments and questions via blog in advance. The details follow (in brief)
and are attached (in full detail on Adobe PDF file). 

AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION

LIVE IN STUDIO:
A panel of experts will address a range of key questions (see PDF for
confirmed panelists and sample questions) and a studio audience of
approximately 150 people will be comprised of parents, educators, students,
political and business leaders, and other interested citizens. 

BLOG ONLINE:
The program will have a strong interactive component. In advance of the
forum, viewers will be invited to blog on the issue of education and global
competition through the Eye on Education web site. Some of those comments
will be presented during the program along with live blogs and emails sent
in while the show is in progress.

Greater Boston's Jared Bowen will report on email comments and introduce
audience members who have questions. Program segments will be made available
online for streaming and as podcasts.

RECEPTION

The audience will be invited to attend a reception following the program.
Guests will be able to continue the discussion and network with the
producers, panelists, and other guests.

LOGISTICS

Studio A:

Between 6 and 6:15pm. 
. Late arrivals may not be allowed to enter the studio.
. Guests pre-designated for questions may be asked to submit their question
