Subject: Dorchester question

Dear Joe,

I am writing this in hopes that you have not yet departed for Vermont for the summer. When we chatted at the Kayafas' birthday party, I mentioned that I chair the Board for a small Shakespeare company headquartered in Cambridge. The Actors' Shakespeare Project performs Shakespeare's plays in intimate non-traditional spaces around Boston, and provides community education programs in the neighborhoods where we perform. Last year we performed Hamlet at the Strand (yes, we were able to make the Strand more intimate, but it was a challenge) and would like to return to Dorchester next season. We are in the process of looking for venues.

I know you are tied into the Dorchester arts community and wonder if you know of any spaces we should consider, or contacts in that Community who might be able to help us. I should stress our willingness, if not preference, to perform in non-traditional spaces. As an example, our current production of Love's Labours Lost is in a former skateboard shop in the basement of the Garage in Harvard Square!

We are trying to find venues for two productions next season by June 30th. If you have any ideas for us or would be willing to meet with our Artistic Director to discuss possibilities, we would be most grateful.

Thanks,

Faith Parker
