?I am writing this letter in response to the one below and my personal friendship with Barrington. I am so excited about the prospect of Haven opening, I can't even express it! We, as a community that receives so much?negative media attention, need to support people who want to enrich our neighborhood?by showcasing the positive and cultural expression that we contain. I have worked very closely with Barrington and can see the vision that he has for Haven. WE NEED THIS IN OUR COMMUNITY. The opportunities are endless! Just being around the neighborhood and hearing the "buzz" about Haven makes me feel really good, because I am "in the loop" of Haven.? Please support this truly adventurous endeavor by my very good friend, Barrington,as an Artist, Poet, Dancer, Singer, Writer, Supporter of the Arts or neighbor, you cannot go wrong. Please take a moment to write a letter?of support for this venture, you can reply to me directly or fax it to the Licensing Board 617-635-4742 and email to Lauren Smyth of the Mayor's Office at Lauren.Smyth at cityofboston.gov ?before WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 16th (date of the hearing). On Wednesday, January 16, at 10 a.m., the Boston Licensing Board will hear the application of Barrington Edwards for a Common Victualers 7-Day Malt and Wine License for the new art gallery and restaurant that he proposes to open at 1820 Dorchester Avenue. ?This building is the former location of Layden's Pub, at the corner of Dot Ave and Edwin Street.



Barrington has received support from St. Mark's Area Main Street for his plans and is asking other neighborhood groups to write letters of support as well. ?
