“No matter what side you come down to politically… is sure to strike sadly
familiar chords.” – The New York Times
“Tirosh blows you to pieces in this true story” –Time Out New York
The first of these two plays, which will perform in repertory with each
other, introduces Rachel Corrie, a 23-year-old American killed while attempting
to stop an Israeli bulldozer from demolishing a civilian home on the Gaza
Strip. Through her journals and e-mails, hear her compelling quest to find truth
and understanding in a complex situation. Then, jump to the other side of the
barbed-wire fence with Pieces, the autobiographical account of Zohar Tirosh as
she recounts her two years in the Israeli army. Written when she was 23, Zohar
documents her two years in the Israeli army, recounting her emotional and
intellectual path during these turbulent years in her country. Performed by the
author, this play expertly complements My Name is Rachel Corrie.
Tickets for each show range from $10-$25, and can be purchased in person at
the Box Office at 321 Arsenal Street, Watertown; by phone at 617-923-8487; or
online here.
Enthusiast and Downstage Subscribers receive ticket to both shows with their
Subscription Package.
