Subject: Calling local artists and crafters!

The Food Project's Farmers' Market at Dudley Town Common in Roxbury is
looking for local artists and crafters to exhibit/sell at a special market
event that will take place the last Thursday of every month during the 2008
market season (June through October).

Since 1996, The Food Project - a Boston-based youth farming program - has
been selling fresh produce, baked goods, honey, and other locally produced
items from our market in Dudley Town Common. Over the years, we have hosted
a number of different artisans who have sold alongside us and contributed to
a broader, more diverse set of offerings at our market. In the 2008 season,
we are excited to continue and expand on this tradition by establishing a
set day every month that will feature local artists and crafters.

Our market this year will run from June 3rd through October 30th, operating
every Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm-7pm. The local artisans event will
happen the last Thursday of every month - a total of 5 markets throughout
the season. While anyone interested is invited to apply to sell more often
that, it is our thought that by having this featured day, and advertising it
as such, we will draw from beyond our regular customer base - attracting
additional people who are interested specifically in checking out and buying
local crafts and art. As a result, vendors stand to make more sales than
they would on a regular Dudley Market day.

So if you are a local artist or crafter looking for an additional venue for
your art, please consider joining us! For more information and an
application to join our market, please e-mail back or call 617-442-1322 ext.
13. Also, feel free to pass this message along to anyone else you know who
might be interested. I look forward to connecting with interested people!
